Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) Maryville promotes the health and well being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. PFLAG's mission is to provide opportunities for dialogue about sexual orientation, gender identities and to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
PFLAG Maryville celebrates diversity and envisions a society that embraces everyone, including those of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. Our vision and mission is accomplished through support, education and advocacy....SUPPORT, to cope with an adverse society; EDUCATION, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and ADVOCACY, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights.
PFLAG Maryville welcomes the participation and support of all who share in this mission and hope to realize this vision. Only with respect, dignity and equality for all will we reach our full potential as human beings individually and collectively.
Come meet with us for our regular monthly meetings on the first Thursday of each month (September through May) in Room 205 of Fayerweather Hall on the Maryville College campus. Special speakers and programs will be announced beforehand. Our meetings are informal and our varied group comes together to share...to listen...and to inform. You will be welcomed!
